Bulk actions let you manage multiple entries at the same time from the Entries listing or advanced search screen. They help you work more efficiently when updating, archiving, unpublishing, or removing content at scale.
Most bulk actions operate at the entry level. When you select an entry, all language variations are included automatically.
The exception is changing the content owner, or publishing content in basic workflow.
Before you start
You must have the appropriate permissions for the actions you want to perform.
The actions available depend on:
- your role permissions
- the content types selected
- the languages contained within each entry
When to use bulk actions
Use bulk actions when you need to:
- update or manage multiple entries at once
- remove or archive outdated content
- unpublish groups of entries
- reassign content ownership
- publish entries in basic workflow
Available bulk actions
You can currently use bulk actions to:
Use bulk actions
- Open the Entries listing or run an advanced search.

Permissions and safety checks
Before running a bulk action, Contensis performs several checks to ensure the action is valid.
The system:
- checks the actions you are allowed to perform
- checks your permissions for each selected entry
- skips entries you do not have permission to change
- displays a confirmation summary when some entries cannot be processed
This helps you understand exactly what will and will not happen before confirming the action.
