Bulk change content owner lets you assign multiple entries to a new content owner in a single action.

Changing the content owner updates only the selected language variation and does not affect other languages within the same entry. You'll need update permission on the selected entries to make a bulk owner change.

When to use bulk change content owner

Use bulk change content owner when you want to:

  • transfer ownership of content in a specific language
  • reassign entries within a single content type
  • update ownership following team or role changes

How to bulk change content owner

To make a bulk owner change:

  1. Select a language in the Entries listing.
  2. Select one or more entries.
  3. Select Change content owner from the bulk actions toolbar.
  4. Choose a new content owner from the searchable dropdown.
  5. Confirm the change.

What happens after changing the content owner

  • The content owner is updated for the active language variation only.
  • Other language variations within the same entry are not changed.
  • Entry content and publishing status remain unchanged.
  • Email notifications are sent to both the original and new content owners.
  • A progress message is shown while ownership is being updated.
  • A success message confirms how many entries were updated.

Permissions and behaviour

  • Bulk change content owner applies only when all selected entries are in the same active language.
  • You must have permission to edit the selected content type in the active language.
  • Entries you don’t have permission to update are skipped.
