Bulk operations on assets

When you need to make the same change to a lot of assets, you can select them in the asset listing and apply an action to all of them at once, rather than opening each asset in turn.

1. Select Assets from the project sidebar.
2. Filter or search until the listing shows the assets you want.
3. Tick the checkbox on each asset card, or use Select all assets to select everything on the page.

Tags themselves are managed separately from assets, organised into tag groups. For more on creating and editing tags, see Create and update tags and View, search and filter tags.

An action only appears if you have permission to perform it on at least one of the selected assets. If none apply, you'll see No bulk actions available.

There is no bulk move, bulk download, or bulk rename. There is no bulk publish either, and none is needed. Assets are published along with the entries that use them.

If you have permission for some of the selected assets but not all, the confirmation window tells you before you commit. For example: "This action will delete 8 of 12 assets. 4 assets will not be deleted." A table shows which content types are affected and why.

You can proceed with the assets you do have permission for, or cancel.

A progress message appears in the corner of the screen, updating as it works through them: "Deleting 12 assets. This may take a moment." When it finishes you'll see a summary such as "Bulk delete complete" and "12 assets have been deleted."

If some assets fail, the summary reports the number of errors. It does not name which assets failed, so check the listing afterwards.
