Unpublish an asset

Unpublishing an asset removes it from your website or application, wherever it is used. The asset stays in your asset library and appears in the listing as normal. Only its published state changes.
If you only want to stop authors using an asset from now on, without changing your live site, archive it instead. For the difference between archiving, unpublishing, and deleting, see Digital asset management.
You need to be a member of a role with the unpublish permission to unpublish assets. Contensis always asks you to confirm first.
Unpublish an asset from the editor
- Select Assets from the project sidebar to open the asset listing.
- Locate the asset you want to unpublish, either by scrolling through the grid or by using the search.
- To open the asset editor, select the asset or choose Open from the actions menu on the asset card.
- In the editor toolbar, select Actions (the triple-dot icon), then choose Unpublish.
- Review the Unpublish asset confirmation, which shows how many entries use the asset, and select Unpublish.
A notification confirms that the asset has been removed from every site and application that was using it.

Publish an asset again
Assets are published along with the entries that use them. To put this asset back on your live site, publish an entry that uses it.
