Roles and permissions overview
Roles are a way of granting groups of users in your organisation permission to perform certain actions on specific resources of a project. This enables you to separate the duties within your team and provide users with exactly the amount of access that they need to do their job.
For example, you might have an Events author role, which enables those users to create, update, and submit for approval any entries using the Events and Venue content types. But users with the Events approver role may only be able to approve and decline entries for the Events and Venue content types without being allowed to update them.
Permissions are not granted to a user, but to a role. This provides a clear security model and makes it easier to audit what a user can do.

Users log into Contensis. Users are assigned to roles, individually or by being a member of a group. Permissions are assigned to roles, granting access to resources and associated actions and languages.

Note: Roles do not provide granular access to individual files, assets, or entries.
