Page last updated 31 March 2026

Use a content review request when you find an entry that may be inaccurate, outdated, or unclear and needs to be checked by a reviewer.

Requesting a review notifies the assigned reviewer and updates the entry’s review status.

Before you start

The entry’s content type must have review requests enabled.

When to request a review

Request a review when:

  • content may be out of date
  • information appears incorrect or unclear
  • a policy or process has changed
  • screenshots, examples, or guidance no longer match the product

Open the Request a review window

Top request a review, start by opening the Request a review window:

  1. Open the entry in the editor.
  2. Open the Content review panel.
  3. Select Request a review.

The Request a review window will open.

Set a due date

The Due date field sets when the review should be completed.

  • By default, the due date is set to around 14 days from today.
  • You can change the date and time to any supported value.

Use this field to set expectations for when the review should be completed.

Add a message for reviewers

In the Why are you requesting this review? field, explain why the entry needs reviewing.

For example:

  • “Product name has changed and screenshots are out of date.”
  • “Policy has been updated – please review the legal section.”

A message is required. If you try to submit the request without one, an error message will appear asking you to provide a reason.

Submit the review request

To submit the review request:

  1. Confirm the Due date.
  2. Enter a message explaining why the entry needs review.
  3. Select Request review.

What happens after submitting a request

When the request is submitted:

  • A confirmation notification appears.
  • The content review panel updates to show the request message.
  • The entry status changes to Review requested.
  • The assigned reviewer is notified, depending on system configuration.
