On-demand reviews allow editors to manually request a review for a specific content entry. This is useful when content needs checking outside of a scheduled review cycle.
On-demand reviews are configured at the content type level, so all entries created from that content type can use review requests.
Before you start
You must have permission to edit content types or be a System Administrator.
When to use on-demand reviews
Use on-demand reviews when content needs to be checked before it is updated, published, or reused.
Common situations include:
- content updates that require approval before publishing
- policy or guidance changes that need validation by subject experts
- urgent corrections where content needs a quick review
- collaborative content owned by multiple teams
On-demand reviews can also be used alongside scheduled reviews, allowing editors to request additional checks when needed.

To enable on-demand review requests for a content type:
- Go to the content type you want to configure.
- Select the settings cog in the vertical toolbar.
