Page last updated 14 August 2026

Archiving takes assets out of circulation without deleting them. Archived assets are hidden from the default asset views, so authors won't come across them when browsing or picking assets, and can be brought back at any time.

Archive assets in bulk

  1. Select Assets from the project sidebar.
  2. Filter or search until the listing shows the assets you want to archive.
  3. Tick the checkbox on each asset, or use Select all assets.
  4. Select Archive 12 assets from the selection bar.
  5. Review the Confirm bulk archive window and select Confirm archive (12 assets).

Unarchive assets in bulk

Archived assets don't appear in the listing by default, so find them first.

  1. Select Assets from the project sidebar.
  2. Under the Publish status filter, tick Archived.
  3. Select the assets you want to bring back.
  4. Select Unarchive 12 assets from the selection bar.
  5. Review the Confirm bulk unarchive dialog and select Confirm unarchive (12 assets).

The assets return to their previous state and appear in the listing again.

Permissions

Archive and unarchive each require the matching permission on the asset's content type and language. The action appears if you have it for at least one selected asset, and the confirmation window reports any that will be skipped.
