Delete or replace tags

You can remove individual or multiple tags from your Contensis project. If a tag is currently in use, you’ll have the option to replace it with another tag helping to keep your content structured and consistent.

To delete a single tag and optionally replace it with another:

1. From the Content modelling menu in the sidebar, navigate to Tags.
2. Use the keyword filter to quickly locate the tag you want to delete.
3. Click the More actions button (⋮) next to the tag and select Delete from the menu.
4. If the tag is currently used in any assets or entries, a Delete or replace and delete tag? window will appear.
5. Select a replacement tag from the list.
6. Click Replace and delete to remove the original tag and update all associated entries with the new one.

You can also remove multiple tags at once and assign a replacement tag.

1. In the tags listing, select the tags you want to delete.
2. Click the Delete tags from the bulk action toolbar. A Delete or replace and delete tags? window will appear.
3. Select a replacement tag from the list.
4. Press Replace and delete, to remove the selected tags and apply the replacement to all affected entries.

2. Click the More actions button (⋮) next to the tag and select Delete from the menu.
3. If the tag is not in use it will be deleted immediately.
4. If the tag is in use, a confirmation window Delete or replace and delete tag(s)? will appear.
5. In the window, click Delete to remove the tag without replacing it with another.

• You can also delete tags without replacing them, but any linked entries will lose those tags.
• Replaced tags are immediately removed from the system and are not available from the recycle bin.
