Create a brand voice to define how AI should write and adapt content for your organisation.
Before you start
- You must have permission to manage brand voices.
- Ensure you are working in the correct project.

- Select New brand voice.
- Enter the required details:
- Name (50 characters or fewer)
- API name (unique, automatically generated)
- Description (128 characters or fewer)

The brand voice opens in the editor, ready for configuration.
Add source material for brand voice analysis
Source material provides the input used to analyse and generate an initial brand voice profile. You must provide at least one source before analysis can run.
You can add:
- Training copy
- URLs to published content
Add training copy
Use training copy when you have example text that strongly represents your brand.
- Open the brand voice editor.
- Find the Training copy textarea.
- Paste or type your example content.
Add training URLs
Alternatively use URLs to analyse existing published content.
- In the Training URLs section, enter a valid URL.
- Select Add to include it in the list.
- Repeat to add multiple URLs.
Remove a URL
- Select the
×icon next to a URL to remove it from the list.
Analyse and refine a brand voice
Once source material has been added, you can analyse it to generate an initial brand voice profile.
Run analysis
- Confirm at least one valid source is present.
- Open the Analysis tab.
- Select Analyse voice.
Review analysis results
After analysis completes, the generated brand voice profile is displayed for review. You can edit:
- Brand voice summary
- Tone and personality traits
- Language complexity
- Sentence structure
- Vocabulary preferences
All fields are editable, allowing you to fine-tune the voice before saving or publishing.
Configure brand voice settings
Voice settings control how AI applies readability, inclusivity, and language restrictions when using a brand voice.
Open voice settings
- Open the brand voice editor.
- Select the Voice settings tab.
You’ll see panels for:
- Readability
- Inclusivity
- Terms to avoid
Override reading ease
Reading ease determines the accessibility and complexity of AI-generated content.
- Review the detected reading ease level.
- If required, select a different reading level from the Override reading ease dropdown.
- The selected value is saved in the brand voice settings.
Use reading ease to align content with your audience, from plain public language to specialist or technical writing.
Inclusivity preferences
Inclusivity settings help ensure content is respectful and globally understandable.
Available options include:
- Use gender-neutral nouns and pronouns
- Avoid idioms, slang, and acronyms
- Avoid cultural or religious references unless intentional
When enabled, these preferences apply to all AI-generated or transformed content using the brand voice.
Terms to avoid
Use Terms to avoid to restrict specific words or phrases.
- Enter terms or jargon you want AI to avoid.
- Save your changes.
AI will avoid these terms whenever the brand voice is applied.
Save and publish a brand voice
Brand voices follow a draft and publish workflow.
Save changes as a draft
- Select Save to store changes without publishing.
- A confirmation message appears when changes are saved.
Draft voices are not available for assignment to content types.
Publish a brand voice
- Select Publish to make the brand voice available for use.
- A confirmation message indicates successful publication.
Only published brand voices can be assigned to content types.
