Delete a campaign

Deleting a campaign removes the campaign and its tracking. It does not touch your form responses.

You need the Delete action on the Campaigns permission. Without it the delete action does not appear.

1. Open the campaign from the campaigns listing.
2. Select Actions, then Delete.
3. The Delete campaign? window opens, telling you that you are about to permanently delete the campaign and that the action cannot be undone.
4. Type the campaign name into the field, exactly as it appears. This is asked for deliberately, to make an irreversible action hard to do by accident.
5. Select Delete campaign.

Contensis deletes the campaign and confirms. To stop, select Cancel.

Nothing. This is the important part, and it is worth being clear about before you confirm.

The context captured against each form response, including the UTM campaign, source, medium, and everything else on the response's Context tab, belongs to the response rather than to the campaign. Deleting a campaign leaves all of it intact. Your responses stay where they are, with their attribution, and you can still work with them in the usual way.

What goes is the campaign itself: its settings, its tracked items, and the targets and progress figures built on them.

A campaign cannot be recovered, and its figures cannot be reconstructed. If the campaign's performance is something you will need to refer to later, export the responses or record the figures before deleting.
