Campaign permissions

Access to campaigns is controlled by role. Someone with no campaign permissions does not see campaigns in the sidebar at all.
Add campaign permissions to a role
- Go to the roles settings and open the role you want to change.
- In the permission types toolbox, expand Campaign management.
- Add the Campaigns permission.
- Choose the actions the role should have: All actions, or any combination of Create, Update, Delete, and View.
- Save the role.
Choosing All actions hides the individual toggles, since it covers all four. Clearing it brings them back, all switched off.
What each action allows

Update covers more than it sounds like. As well as the Edit campaign window, it governs the whole Tracking section: adding tracked items, editing their targets and UTM settings, and removing them. There is no separate permission for tracking.
Two things permissions do not control
A campaign that has ended is read-only for tracking, whatever the role. Once the end date passes, Add tracking disappears and the per-card Edit tracking and Remove tracking options go with it, even for someone with All actions. This is the campaign's status overriding the permission, not a permissions problem, and it is worth knowing before anyone goes looking for the missing setting.
Viewing responses needs a separate permission. The View form responses option on a tracking card also requires permission to view responses for that particular form, which is set on the form rather than on campaigns. Someone with full campaign permissions but no access to a form's responses sees the card and its figures but cannot open the responses behind it. See Form response permissions.
When campaigns are not licensed
If the subscription does not include campaign management, the Campaign management disclosure does not appear in the permission types toolbox at all, so there is nothing to configure.
Using the keyboard
Tab to the Campaign management disclosure and expand or collapse it with Enter or Space. Tab on to the Campaigns permission and use Enter or Space to switch each action on or off.
