You can use AI in Contensis to generate titles, descriptions, alt text, and keywords for images in the asset gallery and images fields. This helps authors work faster, improves asset searchability, and ensures a better experience for users of assistive technologies.

AI-generated metadata can always be reviewed and edited before saving.

What AI-generated image metadata includes

When you generate metadata for an image, Contensis can suggest:

  • Title: a short, human-readable name for the image.
  • Description: a fuller explanation of what the image shows, used for asset management and context.
  • Alt text: concise descriptive text used by screen readers and other assistive technologies.
  • Keywords: searchable terms that help you find the asset later in the asset gallery.

Generating metadata in the entry editor asset gallery

Use this approach when you want to prepare or improve assets before they are used in entries.

Steps

  1. From an image field, open the asset gallery to browse for images
  2. Select an image in the gallery to display the details panel.
    • Title
    • Description
    • Alt text
    • Keywords
Press the AI shimmer icon above each field where you want to generate content. For example:
  3. Edit any fields as needed to ensure accuracy and relevance.

The metadata is saved on a per field basis as you navigate through the panel. The metadata is now available as each asset is used in the entry.
