Default content system user groups
Various system user groups come with your install of Contensis, ready for you to assign users and content permissions to. They are indicated by a green dot in the Global User Groups view in the Management Console.
Global user groups
AD Users
Users logging in using Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) are added to this group.
Alias Administrators
Users in this group can view, add and remove URL aliases of pages or documents.
API Key Administrators
Users in this group can create, update, delete, enable and disable API keys.
CMS Editors
Users need to be in this group to be able to log in to the CMS. The Everyone group is a child group of the CMS Editors group.
Component Administrators
Users in this group can create, update, edit, delete and publish components used in content types and entries.
Content Schedule Administrators
Users in this group can access the Content Schedules management area from the Management Console.
Content Type Administrators
Users in this group can create, update, edit, delete and publish content types from the Content Types and Entries drawer.
Developers
Users in this group can use the developer tools settings in the desktop tool.
Dictionary Administrators
Users in this group can add, remove, update items in the dictionary.
Entry Administrators
Users in this group can create, edit, delete and publish entries based on any content type.
The Entry Administrators user group has been superseded. We recommend that you configure roles and permissions for your content types instead.
Everyone
This is a default group to which every user is added when their account is created. The Everyone group is a child group of the CMS Editors group.
Forum Admin
Users in this group can manage everything to do with the Forums Module.
Hyperlink Administrators
Users in this group have visibility of Hyperlink Management in the Management Console area, where hyperlinks can be managed for a project. You can create, remove and update hyperlinks.
Localisation Administrators
Users in this group can create, remove and update localisations for the Contensis UI and web controls.
Microsite Creators
Users in this group can create microsites.
Release Administrators
Users in this group can create, remove or update content releases from the Management Console.
Role Administrators
Users in this group can manage user roles, allowing them to create, update and delete roles as well as assign permissions to different system resources.
Site View Administrators
Users in this group can create and manage nodes in site view, as well as assign entries to locations in your site structure.
System Administrators
Membership of this group gives full access to all functionality in Contensis.
Taxonomy Administrators
Users in this group can add, update and remove taxonomy values.
Thesaurus Administrators
Users in this group can add, remove and update items in the thesaurus.
User Administrators
Users in this group can see registered users but cannot add or remove user groups.
